Geelong Nature Festival
The Geelong Nature Forum, now the Geelong Nature Festival (GNF), was born in 2019 where it began as a collaborative project betwen the Geelong Field Naturalists Club and the City of Greater Geelong, with support from local environmental groups. The inaugal GNF was held in March 2019 with the theme 'Where the Wild Things Are', and attracted 300 people. Following Covid lockdowns in 2021, the GNF was held at the National Wool Museum and included an exhibition celebrating the many nature volunteer groups and environmental agencies working to conserve Geelong's amazing wildlife and natural places, as well as the Alphabet Bird artworks by grade 4 students.
In 2023, the forum is expanding into a festival made up of over 80 events to celebrate nature in our own backyard running from 15 September 2023 to 29 October 2023. Many of these events are listed on the Eventbrite website so please check them out and register your attendance.
