SVA has committed to develop a Victorian Distilled Spirits Strategy during the 2024-25 financial year. The Strategy will be owned by industry and delivered in partnership with the Victorian Government through Agriculture Victoria.

The Strategy will be for all spirits industry stakeholders. It will provide an insight to Victoria’s position on the global stage, tell the success stories of our industry, and outline Victoria’s unique value proposition. It will outline the vision for the industry, highlighting the potential growth opportunities and outline the channels for growth and profitability – being realistic about what steps and pathways are required. Most importantly the Strategy will capture the fun and excitement of working in this industry – telling the story of what makes Victoria a great place to make spirits.

As a key part of this project, SVA has engaged consulting firm atticusnow to assist it in engaging with industry stakeholders and developing the strategy. This process will involve interviews, industry forums, and online workshops. Consultations will be held with the spirits industry, its supply chain as well as government, both in Victoria and globally, to ensure there are a range of views captured. Feedback from stakeholders will inform the development of the Strategy.
