Relax and unleash your creativity as you craft your very own woven basket using sustainable, repurposed, and recycled materials. Explore a variety of twines, raffia, and yarns to create a beautiful piece with a focus on decorative upcycling.

In this hands-on class, you will learn essential weaving and basketry techniques. Add a touch of flair by incorporating recycled Sari silk ribbon offcuts, infusing your design with vibrant Indian influences. Combining both traditional and contemporary techniques, you'll have the opportunity to design a functional, one-of-a-kind basket that reflects your personal style.

About Your Instructor: Meet Leisa Antonio, the founder of Healing India Creative Arts. Leisa is passionate about blending sustainability and creativity, using repurposed materials to craft beautiful textiles, glass, jewellery, and home goods. With over 20 years of experience in facilitating creative workshops, Leisa’s sessions focus on self-care, life skills, and community-building—helping you reconnect with the joy of making and rethinking fast fashion.

What to Bring:
All materials for the workshop will be provided, so you don’t need to bring anything—just wear comfortable clothes suitable for crafting.

Parking and Transport:
Free parking is available in the Theatre Gardens car park on Saturdays and Sundays. Bus routes 27 and 28 stop nearby, and the venue is a short walk from Subiaco or Daglish train stations.
