2018 ACTEBA Masters Trials Event

The Masters Trials event is scheduled for the following dated:

Rd 1 - 28th or 29th of July (you will only be required to play 1 day)
Rd 2 - 4th & 5th August (Top 12, required to play both days)

THERE IS NO GUARANTEE OF PREFERRED DAY OF PLAY, IT'S UP TO YOU TO NOTIFY THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR BEFORE EACH ROUND IF YOU CAN'T PLAY ON A PARTICULAR DAY THAT WEEKEND. IF YOU NOTIFY THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR ON THE MONDAY OF EACH WEEK YOU WILL BE GRANTED YOUR PREFERRED DAY!

Format

o Round 1 - 3 or 4 groups with a round robin x 3........with top 3 or 4 progressing to Top 12 (depends on number of entries and groups) -

o Top 12 will be a round robin x 4 played over two days
o Venue – Preferably 4 tables venues used for round 1 - Top 12 will be played @ The Harmonie German Club
o Groups seeded based on current Masters rankings - Winner and Runner-up from the Masters Singles Event are not eligible to play in the Ladies Trials event.
o Top 4 players after the Top 12 round robin will join the Winner and Runner-up from the Masters Singles to make up the 2018 ACT Masters Team to represent ACT at the National Championships in Albury in October 2018

Note:

Play commences at 11am where possible, but this may vary depending on the venues being used. Tables will be open a half hour before expected starting time for practice. Rounds will require approximately 5 to 6 hours to complete. There will be no breaks for lunch.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

• Anyone who has entered or intends on entering the selection trials of another state or territory will be ineligible to compete in the ACT selection trials.
• Entries for the Masters Trials are due by Thursday 28 July 2018 @ 6pm
• NO entries will be accepted without the accompanying fees. The relevant entry fees (see above) MUST accompany entries.
• The format and dates for the selection trials have been based on an expected number of entries being received. The Tournament Director reserves the right to vary both the format and dates should this become necessary.
• Seeds will be taken strictly from the ACTEBA Masters rankings as at April 2018. All groups (including seeds) are initially compiled from the rankings.
• No changes to the groups will be made once they are finalised and released, so if you are unable to play on a particular day, you must advise the tournament director by the Monday before the weekend.
• All entries are accepted under the provision that the entrant agrees to abide by all and any directions made by the Tournament Director and that their decisions will be final.
• Note that if you are selected to represent the ACT at the 2018 National titles you will be required to pay a deposit of $300.00 within 2 weeks of notification of your selection. If you do not pay your deposit within 2 weeks your place will be offered to the next eligible player.
• The draws will be e-mailed to all competitors who have provided an email address, and will also be available on the ACTEBA website (acteba.com.au). Competitors will NOT be notified by phone. It is each player’s responsibility to ensure they are aware of when and where they are playing. If you don’t have email, then make sure you contact the Tournament Director!
