2024 ACTEBA Open Doubles Championship

Key Details

• Registrations only through Eventbrite - do not transfer directly to ACTEBA
• Open to ACTEBA Members
• Format is Scotch Doubles to the International Rules that we currently play each week
• Entries close 9pm Tuesday 3rd September
• $20 entry per player ($40 per team) + admin fee
• Venues – To be determined based on entry numbers
• Seeds - To be determined based on entry numbers. If there are seeds these will be based on the last two years doubles results

Indicative Format

Round 1 & 2 - Group Stages - Dates 7th/8th September and 14th/15th September

• Round robin x 3
• Teams will play on one day only
• Numbers to progress from each group will be dependent on entry numbers
• Please note: depending on number of entries only one of these two weekends may be required for round robin group play. Teams should be available at least one day on each of the first two weekends.

Round 3 - Top 16 - 21st and 22nd September

• All players/teams play a double elimination knockout
• (Friday 20th September Evening session may be required depending on final entry numbers and venue availability)

Indicative Schedule

• Play will commence at 10am where possible, but this may vary depending on the venues being used.
• Tables will be open half an hour before the expected starting time for practice.
• Rounds will require approximately 6 to7 hours to complete.
• There will be no breaks for lunch.
• Initial groups will be published in line with the new dates for the event.
• Groups for following rounds will be published by the Tuesday after each round

All personal information entered on this form will remain private and is not published on the internet. The information will only be made accessible to ACTEBA Committee members for the purposes of running this event.

Conditions of Entry

• The format and dates for the event have been based on an expected number of entries being received. The Tournament Director reserves the right to vary both the format and dates should this become necessary.
• Seeds (if included) will be taken strictly from the last 2 years results of the Open Doubles
• All entries are accepted under the provision that the entrant agrees to abide by all and any directions made by the Tournament Director and that their decisions will be final.
• The draws will be e-mailed to all competitors who have provided a valid email address, and will also be available on the ACTEBA website (acteba.com.au) and Facebook page. Competitors will NOT be notified by phone. It is each player’s responsibility to ensure they are aware of what time their match is on. If you don’t have email, then make sure you contact the Tournament Director.
