A leading overseas speaker on G.K. Chesterton and a network of Chesterton schools in America will lead the lineup at a forthcoming conference at Campion.
Dale Ahlquist, President of the Chesterton Society in America, will speak at the 2024 Australian Chesterton Conference on Saturday, 2nd November. As this year marks the 150th anniversary of Chesterton’s birth, the conference will focus on “The Rebirth of Chesterton – Insight and Foresight”.
Dale will report on the remarkable Chesterton revival in America and elsewhere, as well as on the phenomenal growth of the Chesterton Schools – now numbering more than 70 - which were inspired by his co-founding of the first such school in 2007 to provide a Catholic liberal arts education for young students. Dale will speak at the day-long conference as well as at the conference dinner that evening.
Speakers
- Stephen McInerney, Campion’s Dean of Studies, will speak on the pioneering work of John Senior in developing an integrated program of humanities studies;
- Garrick Small, Property economist, will speak on the practical alliance between big government and big business today; and
- Karl Schmude, Australian Chesterton Society President, addresses the realisation of Chesterton’s prophecies in such areas as human reason, economic organisation, and sexual freedom.
Further information on the November conference can be found at the Australian Chesterton Society.
