The National Flying-fox Forum committee is pleased to announce the 9th Forum. This years’ forum and field trip will be held at Ramada by Wyndham, Marcoola Beach, Sunshine Coast Queensland over two days. The Forum coincides with the Sunshine Coast Australasian Bat Night held on Saturday in the picturesque town of Maleny.


  • Forum Presentations: Thursday, 10th October 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM at Ramada by Wyndham
  • Workshop: Friday, 11th October 9am: Connecting with nature through the lens with Steve Parish
  • Workshop: Friday, 11th October 10am: “Should we be encouraging FF in or out of urban areas?” Facilitated by Jacqueline Nolen (Sunshine Coast Council)
  • Field Trip & fly-out: Friday 11th October 1pm - ~7.30pm, Maleny. Field trip includes: Demonstration of a canopy-mounted sprinkler system, First Nations Workshop, Storytelling in conservation, networking and viewing Maleny roost flying-fox flyout.
