Garth Wolfenden
Garth grew up in the coastal town of Esperance in the Goldfields.
He started his nursing carer in Norseman at the end of the Nullarbor and cut his teeth doing remote nursing, and found he enjoyed the problem solving and diverse nature of the clients.
Working all over the Goldfields he then was drawn to the mining industry, spending time in the deserts of Western Australia and even out in the Timor Sea.
Taking time off from the workforce to care for his grandfather, Garth found that palliative care called to him.
After moving from the Goldfields to the Wheatbelt, he jumped on an amazing opportunity with Wheatbelt Specialist Palliative Care and hasn’t looked back.
Garth has moved from clinical work to mainly an educator role but still enjoys spending time with the wonderful clients of the Wheatbelt.
Garth travels the Wheatbelt spreading the word about palliative care and the role that it can play in the reduction of suffering of those in his community.
