Having a Baby? Do you have questions about breastfeeding?

Come to our relaxed, information-packed sessions for expectant parents to learn why breastfeeding is important, the World Health Organisation recommendations for exclusivity, what to expect in the early weeks and how to support mothers to manage challenges.

Although breastfeeding the normal way to feed infants and young children, it is a learned skill. Most women, given time and support can, and do, breastfeed. Our aim is to provide expectant parents with the necessary skills, knowledge and resources to guide them in their breastfeeding journey.

Our courses expand on the information provided at antenatal classes and focus on preparing parents and carers for normal feeding patterns, ways to tell baby is getting enough and the undulating rhythms of those first days, weeks and months after their baby's birth. For this reason, we encourage parents to attend while pregnant or early after the birth.
