Vanishing Point Unseen: Community Forum - Changing Attitudes

Join a diverse group of expert panellists who will share insight into marine debris, its impact on wildlife, and practical solutions we can employ as a community to address this problem. Visitors will have the opportunity to see the types of micro-plastics found inside marine wildlife, in addition to participating in a Q&A discussion which will follow a series of presentations. This family-friendly, all-ages community forum stems from the Vanishing Point Unseen exhibition (on display in our Makers’ Space between 4 October - 24 November) which highlights the growing issue of plastic pollution in our oceans. The forum is a Children’s University Tasmania official event where participants of the Program can have their Passports to Learning stamped. Panellists • Dr Patti Virtue – Institute for Marine & Antarctic Studies (convenor) • Anna Wind – Natural Resource Management – Cradle Coast • Dr Heidi Auman – Institute for Marine & Antarctic Studies • Rowan Sharman – CCC Waste Management Group • Peter Walsh – Institute for Marine & Antarctic Studies (and artist featured in the Vanishing Point exhibition) • Bianca Dunham –crew member for Sea Shepherd and young eco entrepreneur. **Please note, registration is limited to 45 individuals**
