Safeguard facilities are required to reduce net emissions by more than 200 million tonnes by 2030. It is important to understand the implications of the reformed Safeguard Mechanism and act early on implementing an emissions reduction strategy.
The Safeguard Mechanism forum is an opportunity to meet face to face with the Clean Energy Regulator (CER) to learn more about the reformed scheme, carbon credit markets and medium-long term emission reduction planning.
Join the CER for presentations from the executive team about the Safeguard Mechanism reforms and what these mean for your business. You’ll also have the opportunity to ask questions.
Topics of discussion include:
- strategic implications of the Safeguard reforms
- policy environment outside the Safeguard reforms
- main elements of the Safeguard reforms and how to manage excess emissions
- accessing and understanding carbon markets, including market trends and dynamics
- meeting your 2030 targets and opportunities to reduce net emissions.
