Join Jenny Day and Jacinda Blurton, decendants of the stolen generations, to learn:
- about Aboriginal cultures and about Aboriginal artefacts
- the story of the former Sister Kate's Chidren's Home in Queens Park;
- about the stolen generations; and
- Sister Kate's Children's Home Aboriginal Corporation's (SKHKAC) vision for a place of healing on their Bush Block in Queens Park.
This is a unique exprience to meet with an Aboriginal Elder and have a yarn (talk).
The Cultural Learning Experience will take place in the Canning River Eco Education Centre and may include a short walk on country along the Djarlgarro Beelier (Canning River) on Whadjuk Noongar Boodjar. Attendees will receive a booklet from SKHKAC about the stolen generations and cultural learning.
Special effort is made to make this learning experience a safe space to ask any questions you may have about Aboriginal people and cultures and the stolen generations.
