The Accidental Counsellor training is available to staff within NT Farmers (NTFA), Northern Territory Cattlemen’s Association (NTCA), Kimberly Pilbara Cattlemen's Association (KPCA) and Ord River District Co-operative Ltd (ORDCO). Whom have forward facing jobs across Northern Australia. This training will equip staff with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to recognise, understand and respond to a potential community member, a friend, family member, co-worker, or another adult, experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis. Which may have been bought about due to the pressures of a drought or prolonged dryness in the seasonal cycle in Northern Australia.
The aim Is to strengthen the knowledge, skills, and confidence to recognise, understand and respond to a potential community member, a friend, family member, co-worker, or another adult, experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis. With the added bonus of strengthen connections between industry groups with the sense of shared purpose and foster unity between different rural and remote business across Northern Australia.
