Course Overview

We’re about to begin a growth session where everyone will get the chance to share and get some learning done. First introduce yourself and say something about what’ll be happening this session. Then go around the room and give everyone the chance to feel into what they’d like to learn. Each of you should mention some objectives so bring your aspirations!

Topics covered in this course

Understanding Active Listening

In this session participants will be tackling active listening skills, investigating what engages you in the role of a listener rather than an onlookerplus, some tips to enhance your skills. We will take some time to reflect on a couple of tasks assigned.

The Power of Body Language

In this entraining segment we will examine why body language either highlights the message transmitted to the audience or complicates it. We will focus on ambiguous and positive gestures, while laying emphasis on negative gestures and how participants could improve their communication skills in the said domain – that of etiquette when communicating body language.

Attitude is Key!

In this captivating workshop you will be taken on a journey to truly see the world through another person’s eyes and find yourself inside their head. We will be exploring concepts such as sympathy, empathy, frame of reference and reframing to engage with other people; and also a series of practical tools for focus and intent in all interactions.

Enhancing Conversation

Now for a course on improving conversations and more than that communication. You will learn how to use some techniques such as open-ended questions and also using summary techniques of what others are saying to improve the conversations than ever before. We also take you through how the communication cycles work so you can explore the ladder of inference.

Building Relationships Easier

In this session, we will explore ways to connect with others, such as building rapport, finding common ground as well as harnessing the power of neuro programming. Hold on, this session is about connection!

Getting Over Listening Roadblocks

Finally, each workshop participant will identify common listening pitfalls and partner with another participant to co-create a novel strategy for overcoming it.

Workshop Wrap-Up

After this element of the course you will take some time to think about, and share with your fellow travellers, your experiences of the process. Your focus will form an action plan for moving ahead. You will have the chance to ask any questions that might have been left unanswered.
