As part of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade funded and supported Embrace Project, Victoria University in partnership with Global Victoria and the City of Melbourne, will be hosting the third and final workshop in the Embrace Series – Active Sport Workshop: showcasing Australia’s rich sporting culture and excellence.

The Embrace project provides the opportunity for Chinese international students’ to engage with local communities through innovative workshops and programs.

Following our previous workshops on Indigenous Culture and Business, the Active Sport Workshop aims to support international student communities' understanding of Australian sport culture, enhance the connection between local sport and Chinese students/ communities, and learn about Australian sport engagement with China (and their broader international engagement strategy).

Learn about diverse career opportunities in the sport industry and network with industry and fellow students.

Hear from keynote speaker Australian Olympic badminton player and VU alumni Gronya Sommerville followed by a panel discussion led by Tom Parker, National CEO of the Australia China Business Council with an impressive line up of guests from local sport:

  • Caroline Carnegie, Managing Director of Melbourne Victory Football Club
  • Maxwell Gratton, CEO of the Australian Flying Disc Association
