2023 Advanced PhD Course in Empirical Finance

Presenter: Professor Federico Nardari (University of Melbourne)

1.30-6.30pm (Melbourne Time) on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays on the following dates

Module 1: 11, 14 and 15 of March
Module 2: 3, 5 and 6 of April
Module 3: 23, 26 and 27 of May

The topics covered during the term are grouped under the following broad areas:

Bayesian Methods in Financial Economics
Return Predictability, Volatility and Asset Allocation
Evaluation of Trading Strategies and of Managed Portfolio Performance

This course is open to PhD students and academics at FIRN member institutions (see firn.org.au for a list of FIRN members).

PhD students are required to have the permission of this PhD supervisor(s) to enrol is this class and must complete all assessments.

Academics who are post-PhD can 'sit in' and do not have to complete the assessments.
