2023 Advanced PhD Course in Empirical Finance

Presenter: Professor Federico Nardari (University of Melbourne)

1.30-6.30pm (Melbourne Time) on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays on the following dates

  • Module 1:          11, 14 and 15 of March
  • Module 2:          3, 5 and 6 of April
  • Module 3:          23, 26 and 27 of May

The topics covered during the term are grouped under the following broad areas:

  • Bayesian Methods in Financial Economics
  • Return Predictability, Volatility and Asset Allocation
  • Evaluation of Trading Strategies and of Managed Portfolio Performance

This course is open to PhD students and academics at FIRN member institutions (see firn.org.au for a list of FIRN members). 

PhD students are required to have the permission of this PhD supervisor(s) to enrol is this class and must complete all assessments.

Academics who are post-PhD can 'sit in' and do not have to complete the assessments.
