This course is for young people aged 15-24. Priority will be given to those who live in Hume, however, those who are connected to the City of Hume will still be considered.

Are you interesting in becoming an AFL umpire? 🏉

We are seeking expression of interests for young people 15 – 24 who are interested in learning more about becoming an umpire for Junior AFL.


Course Details:

Step 1: Two 2-hour sessions where you will find out more about AFL rules, communication skills required for an umpire, and how to become an AFL umpire.

Step 2: You will be linked with a community training location where training happens once per week to support you to gain confidence and learn more about being an AFL umpire.

Step 3: Begin umpiring junior AFL matches.

Register to express your interest to let us know you want to do this training.

Training sessions will happen in Term 1 2025 – we will be in contact closer to the date to check you are still interested.
