The Qld Valuer-General has issued new Land Valuation notices to land owners in Cassowary Coast, Townsville and Charters Towers, with significant increases in unimproved capital value:

🚩 Charters Towers: 122%

🚩 Townsville: 72%

🚩 Cassowary Coast: 65%

The deadline for lodging objections to the new land valuations is 26 May 2025. New valuations come into effect on 1 July 2025.

For perpetual leases (GHPLs) it’s also an opportunity to apply to convert to freehold title before the cost of doing this rises again.

We do understand that much of the region is badly flood affected; however, there is limited time available for objections to land valuations, and we want to provide as much help as possible, as soon as possible.
