About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes

Come and be inspired by the native flora of Maroochy Bushland Botanic Gardens.

Australian plants have inspired this country’s creatives for several hundred years at least. From traditional to contemporary Indigenous artists, to 19th century botanical illustration, folk art, cabinet making, sculpture, ceramics, textiles, jewellery, books, stamps, floristry, tattoos, romantic birds, logos and product branding, and our national “green and gold” sporting colours. The possibilities are endless!

Join Helen, a local landscape designer and illustrator, to explore the creative inspiration of Australian wildflowers through a 2-part sessional experience at the Gardens.

Part 1 - Guided Walk : Helen will take you on a guided walk through the Gardens to meet some of the unique and iconic floral muses of Australia’s national identity.

That might be enough inspiration for you ... OR you could grab a ticket to return a week later for Part 2 - Nature Journalling Workshop with Helen , and creatively explore the inspiration these seasonal wildflowers and floral muses offer you.

The walk and workshop are suitable for adults and will include walking on both paved and gravel surfaces in the natural bush setting of the Botanic Gardens.

This ticket is for Part 1 of the experience. Please dress for a walk in the outdoors and bring a hat and a waterbottle.

Meet at the entrance to the Arts & Ecology Centre, Maroochy Bushland Botanic Gardens, Tanawha.
