AUTHOR:
Karina May
ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Karina May is one of Australia's brightest new voices in women's commercial fiction. Her debut print novel, Duck a l'Orange for Breakfast (April 2023) was longlisted in the 2024 Indie Book Awards for Best Debut Fiction, with her second, Never Ever Forever (December 2023), hailed "a slickly written and highly entertaining summer read".
Karina, alongside her friend and author Clare Fletcher, is the founder and co-host of the successful That Rom Com Pod. When Karina's not writing or interviewing fellow authors for the pod, she can be found researching her next travel adventure or sipping champagne at bookish events - all in the name of research of course.
IN-CONVERSATION HOST:
Jo Speirs
ABOUT THE HOST:
Jo Speirs grew up on a farm in a small rural community on the Eyre Peninsula of South Australia. Scouring the school library shelves for Sweet Valley High novels and sneaking a read of her mum's Mills & Boon books became a favourite pastime in her teens and fuelled her passion for reading and all things romance.
She lives in Adelaide with her two grown sons, husband and border collie named Zeb. When not writing, she works in her business Nurturing Words, specialising in editing and proofreading manuscripts for other romance authors.
Her debut, Second Chance Love in Point Perry, was runner-up in the prestigious Romance Writers of Australia Valerie Parv Award in 2019 and was longlisted for the Romance Writers of Australia Emerald Award in 2020.
Joanne received the Australian Romance Readers Assoc. ‘Favourite Debut Romance Author 2023’ award. And was a finalist in the Romance Writers of NZ Koru Award 2024 for Best Long Romance and Best First Book.
