About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour

Beloved Gippsland-based author Lisa Ireland released her latest novel The Studio Girls in late April off the back of last year’s delight The One and Only Dolly Jamieson.

Inspired by fascinating real-life history, The Studio Girls is a sumptuous, nostalgic journey back to the glamorous Golden Age of cinema and the intoxicating world of Tinseltown, where nothing is quite what it seems.

Set in 1955, we follow four talented young women who become best friends while living at the Hollywood Studio Club, the famous boarding house for young women seeking a career in the movie industry. Julia, Peggy, Vivienne and Sadie experience it all; the highs and lows of constant auditions, gossip, opulence and scandal.

Yet this stunning tale of love, secrets and friendship is ultimately an uplifting one.

    Free, bookings essential.

Note: If you can't make it on the day, please let us know so we can free up your tickets.
