Back to Basics, with Teacher Adriana Seserko, is a visual art studies run over 10 weeks, perfect for beginners or artists looking to freshen up their knowledge of the core elements of art.
Art is as old as humanity. From the earliest examples of prehistoric cave painting to the contemporary art world of today, the evolution of art spans centuries and reveals an affinity for creative expression.
In our back-to-basics hands-on art lessons, we will study the fundamental elements and principles of visual art design, from colour, tone, shape, line, texture, and space through to balance, contrast, emphasis, pattern, movement, and unity. Over this 10-week course unlock the skills needed to create your own painted masterpieces, from execution through to completion.
Learn how to gesso, mix and blend colour, isolate your painting, to gesso, mix and blend colour, and work with your brushes and acrylic mediums for maximum effect, and finally, isolate your work ready for varnishing.
Artists are encouraged to bring their own materials such as acrylic paint, and brushes, but basic materials will be provided by Q Gallery.
