Our barista coffee course gives students the skills to prepare and serve espresso in restaurants, bars and cafes using a commercial coffee machine.
They will learn essential coffee skills in a group environment that allows time to receive practical training and to then make coffee under the supervision of our qualified barista trainers.
Short Courses Australia have created this course to be in line with the national industry standard of SITHFAB025 - Prepare and serve espresso. (Non-Assessed)
This (6) six-hour course applies to any hospitality organisation that serves espresso coffee beverages, including cafes, restaurants, bars, clubs, function and event, potential job outcomes can range from:
- Baristas.
- Waitpersons.
- Bartenders.
- Food and beverage attendants.
- Hospitality management.
- Event staff.
- And any other applicable positions within the industry.

Participants will receive training in the following:
- Follow hygiene procedures and identify food hazards.
- History and origins of coffee.
- Grind management and dosing.
- The start-up and break down of a coffee machine.
- Creating different coffee styles.
- Develop skill required to texture milk.
- Tasting and understanding the ranges and strengths of coffee.
