About this event

  • Event lasts 1 day 6 hours

Come one, come all to SA's largest medieval fair.

See the knights battle it out in the arena, explore the medieval village to learn about daily life, watch the horses in the skill at arms and visit the medieval market for a range of medieval and modern crafts.

We encourage everyone to dress up for the occassion, however this is not complusary. We just love seeing what outfits our visitors come up with and want everyone to have as much fun as they can.

    Dates - 17th and 18th August 2024

Location - Lyndoch Village Green, Lyndoch, South Australia

Program - Will be available closer to the event.

Weather - we recommend everyone dress for cold and potentially damp weather. Please be aware that our site has got quite muddy the last few events so we recommend wearing sturdy shoes that you don't mind getting messy.

    Frequently asked questions

    Where is Lyndoch?

Lyndoch is a town in the beautiful Barossa Valley in South Australia.

Will there be parking around the venue?

Yes - please refer to the Barossa Medieval Fair Facebook page and event for updates on what parking will be available.

What will the weather be like on the event weekend?

While we can not predict what the weather will be like this year we have had damp, muddy conditions for the last 2 events. We recommend dressing warm and wearing sturdy shoes that you don't mind getting a bit mucky.

Will there be jousting at the Barossa Medieval Fair?

While there will be horses on display and demonstrating skill at arms, we do not currently have the available space for a full jousting arena. This is something we are investigating for future events.

Do I need to wear a costume to this event?

While we encourage our visitors to dress up for the event, wearing costume is not compulsory.

Will there be food served at this event?

Yes - there will be a range of food options available for the whole weekend.

Can I carry my sword, spear or other weapon as part of my costume?

Yes but it will need to be peace bonded (secured with a string or zip tie) so as to not cause any injury to yourself or those around you.

Will there be photographers and videographers at this event?

Yes - our primary authorised photographer for this event is Castleforge Photography. There will also be filming taking place around the arena and potential media photography/filming across the weekend.

What happens if the event needs to be cancelled due to weather?
