About this event

  • Event lasts 3 hours

Heartwood Nature Bathing warmly offers a special 3-hour basket weaving workshop.

In this workshop you will learn the beautiful mariposa stitch. (Check my other events for other stitch styles!)

No prior experience is needed for this experience, which will help you cultivate a sense of calm, creativity and connection.

Where?

This small group experience takes place at the beautiful Sherwood Arboretum in Brisbane/Meanjin, on Turrbal and Jagera country.

Ample parking is available on site.

Details of where to meet on the day will be provided via email 48 hours prior to the event - please ensure you use the correct email to register! Eventbrite's emails can sometimes wind up in your spam/junk folder so be sure to check there if nothing arrives, or get in touch!

What to expect?

This event has a maximum of 10 participants, and is suitable for people 12 years and over.

The mariposa style is very fun! Mariposa is Spanish for 'butterfly' and you can create some wonderful shapes with this style. It's great for contemporary wall hangings or decorative bowls.

No prior experience is necessary and all materials are provided.

You will take home the skills needed to complete larger projects.

This is a very gentle experience; you can expect to travel no further than 1km to reach our weaving location. The route is manageable for all fitness levels, as well as assisted wheelchair users.

If you have any accessibility or mobility concerns, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
