We are excited to offer a further opportunity to attend a collaboration between CSER Adelaide and Museums Victoria - Scienceworks.

Visit Scienceworks and find out about the new range of Digital Technologies programs now available to teachers, provided free-of-charge by the University of Adelaide, Computer Science Education Research (CSER) Group


Summary

9am to 10am

Hear about the wonderful work of the Scienceworks STEM team - led by Mei Liu (MV Senior Programs Officer – STEM). Hands on activities.

10am to 1:30pm (including break for morning tea)

Workshop - led by Celia Coffa

This session is designed to explore the Digital Technologies curriculum for teachers of Prep – Year 8, using the CSER MOOC resources.

We will be working through the some elements of F-6 Digital Technologies course, including :

  • Signing up to a course and joining Google+ Community
  • Introducing the Digital Technologies Curriculum
  • Finding connections to other subject areas
  • Exploring online and hands on resources

The afternoon will be free to explore the wonders and excitement of Scienceworks exhibitions at your leisure. For access to paid Planetarium or Lightning room public shows please book online on the Scienceworks website or in person on the day with your MVTeachers card.

  • Please register prior to the session for MVTeachers for free access and many more wonderful ongoing benefits
  • Morning Tea available from Scienceworks Cafe at own expense.
  • This session will include registering for the CSERMOOC (Online course) and other online activities, please bring along a laptop or iPad.
  • It would be advantageous (but not essential) if participants have joined Google+
  • There will be limited spaces for this event and a waitlist will be enabled.
  • This session is suitable for Primary and Secondary teachers, with a stronger focus on Primary integration opportunities.
