Beginners Jewellery Making - Eight Claw Ring Making Class
Join renowned jeweller and educator Peter Keep from Jewellery Training Solutions for an immersive hands-on jewellery making workshop at The Centre in Sydney.
Participants will learn the fundamentals of crafting a classic eight-claw ring designed to hold a 7mm faceted stone. You will learn how to form a collet to make an 8 claw crown setting and make split shoulders.
Guided by Peter’s expert instruction, you’ll master essential techniques in metalworking and ring construction.
If time allows, you will also explore the intricacies of stone setting, completing a polished, professional piece.
This workshop runs from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm, with a 30-minute lunch break, providing a full day of focused skill-building in a collaborative environment.
Class Details:
Class will start at 9:30am. Students are welcome to arrive at 9am to get set up and get their benches ready.
What you need to bring:
Students are to bring their own hand tools. A complete list of what is needed on the day, will be sent to you prior to your class date. You can also bring your own jewellers apron.
Provided:
You will be provided with metal and any stones required for your piece. The Centre will also provide safety glasses if required.
Lunch:
A light lunch and refreshments will be provided. Please advise our team if you have any alergies or special dietary requirements for the day. Coffee and tea will also be available.
Getting there:
