About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour

Join us for a fun and exciting event celebrating the launch of the new picture book, The Welcome Cookies.

On the day we will be joined by illustrator Kirrili Lonergan, and hear from the author, Kaye Baillie . Everyone will enjoy an interactive storytime session, followed by cookie decorating, and craft.

Aimed at children aged 4-8 years, The Welcome Cookies aims to help children accept and embrace change- big and small. Children attending must be accompanied by an adult.

Books will be available for purchase and signing on the day. This is a great opportunity to meet the illustrator and have your copy of the book personally signed.

See you there!

About the book: Mabel loves visiting Miss Plum’s Sugar Plum Café and drawing pictures for the arty-smarty wall. But one day, Mabel finds the café under renovation by someone new. She misses her favourite café, and she misses Miss Plum’s smiles. Will the new Lionel's Cafe provide Mabel with the same joy she felt in the old café? And how will Mabel accept its differences? The Welcome Cookies is a story of how change brings with it the possibility of new beginnings.

With sensitive illustrations that give life to Mabel’s emotional responses, this book will have young and old alike wanting to visit their local café to taste the welcome cookies.
