Bek is a Master Instructor with Breathless Expeditions. Her personal passion resides in optimising human performance, movement and health. Her philosophy revolves around educating and empowering people to move toward their health goals.

She believes that the breath is our life force. Optimising the way we use this lifeforce can not only help to heal our body but can help to improve our focus, reduce anxiety & enhance our athletic ability.

Her approach to optimising performance & health is holistic. She practices as a Naturopath, Sports & Performance Nutritionist, Clinical Herbalist and Fitness Coach. Locally, in Newcastle and surrounding regions, she enjoys working with the performance team for representative football & athletic clubs and is blessed to be supporting a range of national Olympic level athletes. She facilitates retreats and corporate events as well and combines holistic strategies to improve health, performance and recovery in an individual setting.

Imagine that your emotions are like water; free flowing, fluid and giving life to who are, past, present and future.

Our Nervous Systems have a natural response to help us deal with stressful situations in everyday life. In some circumstances there may not have been ample opportunities to fully process these situations and debrief, problem-solve, resolve and recover.

It’s in these moments where the energy of these emotions has frozen within your body and over time, this accumulates to form into an iceberg. In many cases negatively impacting our mental health.

This can translate into the buildup of stored tension in the body, contributing to the development and expression of; conscious or unconscious patterns, behaviours, limiting beliefs, body responses and personality traits which all reflect the story of the growing iceberg.

The iceberg then becomes an extra load to carry around and can impact the lives and families of individuals and future generations.

It’s common to address these unprocessed emotional experiences through conventional therapies involving talking about, unpacking or revisiting these emotions. This approach can be likened to thawing out the iceberg and letting it slowly melt in the sun.

WHAT IS BREATHWORK AND CONSCIOUS BREATHING?

Breathwork is an umbrella term describing a wide range of conscious breathing practices which promote awareness, self-regulation and profound personal transformation with the intention of enhancing inner peace, health and wellbeing.

Breathing, beyond the basic need for survival, acts as a bridge between spirit, mind, and body; between the conscious and the subconscious. “Breakthrough Breathwork” is one of the quickest ways to open the heart and energise the body. Many of our customers describe our signature Breathwork session as transformational and reflect on an experience filled with release in which they can let go of negative feelings and trauma.

You are guided through slower-than-normal breathing and faster-than-normal normal breathing to open your heart and let your breath set you free.

She promotes Breath as our life force, and the way we use this life force can not only help to heal our body but can help to improve our focus, reduce anxiety & enhance our athletic ability.

Her approach to optimising performance and health is holistic and she is invested in her local community in Newcastle. Bek works with representative football and athletic clubs and is blessed to support a range of national Olympic-level athletes.

Outside her practice, you will find me competing in endurance races, throwing around heavy weights in her garage, sitting in cold water, hiking in nature or cooking with family.

ARE THERE ANY RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH BREATHWORK SESSIONS?

DISCLAIMER: Breathwork offers many potential benefits, but certain conditions may create risks for some individuals. It is essential to read all questions in Breathless Waiver above carefully before deciding if Breathwork is right for you, and let your health practitioner know about any concerns before participating. There are some contraindications including but not limited to pregnancy, glaucoma, high blood pressure not controlled with medication, cardiovascular disease, aneurysm in the brain or abdomen, uncontrolled thyroid conditions and diabetes, asthma (if you have an inhaler, bring it to the session), epilepsy, bipolar disorder or schizophrenia diagnosis or previous psychiatric hospitalisation within the last ten years; other medical or physical conditions that impair the ability to engage in intense physical/emotional release.

A positive answer does not necessarily exclude you from participating but may require medical clearance first. So, reviewing all questions in the waiver carefully and indicating any relevant personal situations before engaging in Breathwork activities is essential.

CAN I ATTEND A BREATHWORK SESSION IF I AM UNDER 18 YEARS OLD?

Yes, you can attend a breathwork session if you are under 18 years old, but only with the supervision of an adult. This ensures that the breathwork session is conducted in a safe and secure environment for everyone involved.

In addition to safety considerations, breathwork sessions are likely to be more appropriate for those aged 18 and above. This is because adolescents may not have the emotional maturity or life experience needed to understand or benefit from such a technique.

REFUNDS & CANCELLATIONS

If Breathless cancel or reschedule an event, you are entitled to a full refund less Eventbrite ticket fees which are non-refundable. All cancellations within seven (7) days of the event will receive a one-time credit to redeem within three months of the event date. Tickets are transferable if you email the details of the new ticket holders full name and email address, including the event date and venue.
