Bushland Restoration with National Parks & Wildlife at Mitchell Park

Greater Sydney Landcare's Wildventure program are lending a hand to an important bushcare group in Cattai National Park, Friend's of Mitchell Park Bushcare - who need help to maintain weed invasions in critical wildlife habitat.

So come join us for a day of hands-on conservation work at Mitchell Park! This event is all about giving back to our beautiful bushland and working alongside the National Parks & Wildlife team to restore and protect the natural habitat. Get ready to roll up your sleeves, grab some tools, and make a difference in our environment.

Please note that this event is designed for young adults ages 18-35 years.

Highlights:

  • Learn bush regeneration skills and get hands on alongside NPWS workers
  • Enjoy and contribute to conserving unique bushland along Cattai Creek - a known platypus hotspot!
  • Meet new like-minded people
  • Contribute to an ongoing bushcare project and make meaningful impact on the environment!
  • Overnight camping optional (please read below if you are interested in camping)
  • FREE BBQ LUNCH INCLUDED

Camping (Optional Extra - Please contact for further info):

As part of the monthly Friend's of Mitchell Park Bushcare, volunteers have the opportunity to camp overnight on the Saturday at the Mitchell Park Education Centre with NPWS to continue the bush regenerative works on the Sunday. This is an external experience to this Wildventure event, if you wish to camp and tag along for the rest of the weekend - please email sophie.blair@greatersydneylandcare.org so we can organise this further for you!

Wildventure is Greater Sydney Landcare’s youth-focused program that empowers young adults (18-35) to explore, engage with, and restore Sydney’s unique natural landscapes. Through flexible, impactful events like Afterwork Adventures, we provide opportunities to connect with nature, learn new skills, and meet a like-minded community while making a meaningful environmental difference.
