Cairns Greek Taverna Night "OPA"!

On the 24th May 2025, St Johns Greek Orthodox Parish will be holding a Greek Night at Cazaly’s on Mulgrave Road Westcourt, sharing the Greek culture.

People from the local community and regional areas will be attending, enjoying the Greek sweets, music, dancing. The doors open at 6:30pm.

Mihali Georgeou and Nick Paras, well known Bouzouki Players from Brisbane, will be entertaining us with their amazing voices and playing modern and traditional Greek songs.

Everyone is welcome to a fun night, you can try plate smashing, and recommend having dancing shoes on to participate in the Zorba and dance the night away.

Those that do not know Greek dancing, it is easy, we have coaches on the night happy to teach.

It will be an exciting night with Cash Prizes to be won. First Prize $2000, Second Prize $1000 and Third $500.

Monies raised from the raffle goes to the church philanthropy extending to families in need, the sick and the elderly and other institutions in our communities.

Cazaly’s Allen Aylett Room is a large comfortable venue with stage and dance floor. Enjoy the delicious buffet food and Greek sweets. Don’t miss out on the mouth-watering baklava (sweet).

The cost is $65 per adult, Children from 6yrs to 15 years $32 and Pre-school age no charge.

The event will be advertised on the websites, face book, community newsletters and service networks throughout the region.
