About this event

The Calile Hotel Amphitheatre, 48 James Street, Fortitude Valley Q 4006

The Calile presents an in-conversation with Brisbane-born, London-based designer, couturier and artist, Michaela Stark.

Join Michaela Stark in conversation with Editor-In-Chief of LOVEWANT Magazine, Bart Celestino and Dr Sal Edwards discussing her extraordinary impact and career to date.

Stark’s boundary-pushing, creative approach spans fashion, art, costume and body morphing. She has created looks for the likes of Beyoncé and Sam Smith as well as collaborating with Victoria’s Secret to reimagine their famous (or infamous) angel wings. With an unapologetically sexy foot planted equally in both art and fashion, Stark investigates the accepted and expected representation of bodies and challenges prudish censorship equally through white-cube gallery spaces and via in-demand apparel and lingerie.

Please note that in the case of wet weather the event will be relocated to an internal event space.

Content warning, we advise that this event is for guests 18 years and over only.

Tickets: $30 plus booking fee
