Frequently asked questions

Do I need to stay with my child at the workshop?

Yep. Adult supervision required at all times. This is a shared experience and you will most likely be needed to help with your child's creation, depending on their age.

Is this messy?

Yes, we will use acrylic paint which won't wash out of clothes once dry

Do we get to keep the creature we make?

Yes indeed. You will take home the creature and its habitat.

When will Gardens for Wildlife give a talk?

10:30am sharp - everyone welcome. If you've booked into the afternoon workshop you can come along too. You could explore Blackwood then return for your afternoon workshop.

I am a Blackwood based artist and I wanted to bring some of my workshop experiences to share within the beautiful setting of this special little forest hamlet town. I am interested in understanding ecology and I go in search of narratives that can help us reconsider our world as a cyclical and shared habitat. I believe that art can help us to learn, to think and to build positive future visions and so, I have created this playful program of workshops based on ecological themes to share with you. Hope to see you there.
