About this event

  • Event lasts 4 hours 30 minutes

Following the success of Champions of Change 2023, which explored innovative community approaches to preventing family and domestic violence, Campbelltown City Council is once again partnering with the NSW Council for Pacific Communities and the South West Multicultural Community Centre to present Champions of Change 2024.

This year, Champions of Change will focus on a smaller, trauma-informed, interactive workshop led by Matt and Sarah Brown, the founders of She Is Not Your Rehab. The workshop is designed for those who support individuals impacted by family violence, such as specialist clinicians, advocates, support staff, teachers, police, social workers, health professionals, family lawyers, therapists, community workers, community leaders, government funders and policy advisors, as well as academics and researchers.

This workshop will offer a participatory, experience-based approach that encourages vulnerability while fostering competence, self-awareness, empathy, and courage. It is aimed at equipping those on the front lines to respond to the pandemic of domestic violence.
