Embark on a field trip with the MAGNT Education Team and discover the local flora and topography of Charles Darwin National Park. Learn how to identify different types of plants and conduct land-based surveys before returning to the Museum to apply your citizen scientist skills.
The field trip bus will depart MAGNT at 8am bound for the main car park shelter in the National Park. Travel with us or make your own way there for an 8.30am start. Everyone will head back to MAGNT at 10am and regroup for follow up activities in the Discovery Centre.

Appropriate closed in footwear for bush walking, hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, snacks and drink bottles are essential.
This is a dedicated children's program. Adults can only attend if accompanying children.
Please cancel your booking if you are no longer able to make it to free up tickets for others.
Key Information
Arrive at MAGNT between 7:45am and 7:55am to check-in before boarding the bus.
Parents and carers who are unable to attend must complete a MAGNT Field Trip Permission Slip on check-in.
MAGNT staff will have a basic field first aid kit. Please bring any medication you require to maintain your personal health and safety.

MAGNT Conditions of Entry
Food and beverage is not permitted inside MAGNT gallery spaces, Theatrette and/or Discovery Centre. All snacks and drink bottles must be stowed in a locker behind the Information Desk.
Bottled water is permitted on the understanding the bottle is carried in a bag at all times and no water is consumed inside MAGNT gallery spaces.
Backpacks and large bags, greater than 30cm on any one side (width, depth and/or length) must be stowed in a locker.
Nappy bags greater than 30cm on any one side and/or containing liquids and food must also be stowed in a locker.
Wheeled shipping trolleys and pull along carts are not permitted inside MAGNT gallery spaces nor are skateboards or rollerblades.
All organic material in your possession, including flowers and/or feathers collected on MAGNT grounds must be disposed of or left at the Information Desk before entering the galleries, Theatrette and/or Discovery Centre.
