About this event

Sydney's Chinatown is full of secrets and excellent restaurants, and on this experience, you're going to see and taste a bit of everything!

On this tour you’ll sample a range of street foods and snacks from some of Chinatown’s best restaurants, with a minimum of 4 food samples included.

All samples are snacks or street foods that represent different parts of China and are designed to be eaten on the move.

Vegetarians, vegans and guests with other dietary requirements are more than welcome – just let us know in advance.

This tour has a strong focus on uncovering Sydney’s long connection with China, and the contributions Chinese-Australians have made to the community. You’ll learn more in 2.5 hours about Australia’s Chinese community than you could possibly imagine, and “pub trivia” style games will keep it interactive and fun.

At the end of the tour, you’ll receive a map and guide to Chinatown, covering all the best restaurants and what to order.

Frequently asked questions

Is this tour family-friendly / can children attend?

This tour is great for all ages, including children. Given the content of the stories as well as the types of foods sampled, we recommend it for children aged 8 and above.

Can I attend on my own?

Of course! We have no minimum numbers for a tour to proceed, and around one third of our guests on the Chinatown tour attend on their own. Your guide/host will create a friendly atmosphere where all guests will get a chance to meet each other and chat throughout the tour.

Do you cater for dietary requirements?

Yes we do! Vegetarians, vegans, guests with gluten-free diets and any other dietary requirements are more than welcome – just let us know in advance. Please note that we can serve vegetarian/vegan OR gluten-free foods, but if you require both, we will struggle to provide suitable alternatives.
