About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour

Join experts and volunteers at the annual Wara Wayingga Tennyson Dunes Open Day to discover what makes these dunes so valuable.

Dr Murray Townsend is a coastal engineer and Manager Coast Protection in the Department for Environment and Water. Murray will discuss the history and evolution of the Adelaide coast and describe the expected impacts of climate change, such as sea level rise, on beaches, dunes and other coastal areas and how the coast can adapt to these changes.

Organised by

The Tennyson Dunes Group was formed in 1995 as a team of volunteers, committed to protecting Adelaide's best example of pre-European coastal dunes.  Our main activities focus on threatened species recovery through revegetation, weed control and community education.
