About this event

  • Event lasts 3 hours

UNSW Environmental Sustainability Team invites staff across faculties and divisions to participate in a Climate Fresk Workshop at the Teaching Commons.

🌍 What to expect: In this interactive, hands-on workshop, you will use a 42-card game to break down the complexities of climate change, exploring the critical challenges our society faces and identifying meaningful actions to address them. You'll also discuss how to integrate these insights into your work.

🌏 Why joining us?

  • Enhance climate literacy: Gain a clearer understanding of climate change through a science-backed approach, based on IPCC reports.
  • Incorporate SDG 13: Explore how to apply Sustainable Development Goal 13: Climate Action into your work and teaching.
  • Join a community of practice: Network with other academic and professional staff across faculties, and if interested, join the newly funded Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) EF Community of Practice.
  • Global pedagogical tool: The Climate Fresk has been played by over two million people worldwide, embraced by universities and organisations for its innovative approach to teaching climate science. Guided by the ‘head, heart and hand’ approach, the workshop fostered knowledge, emotional connection and tangible action.

Please ensure you can attend the full 3-hour session and mark your calendar to avoid wasting provided food (afternoon tea provided)!

What did previous participants think?

A meeting of experiences, minds, information to distill the complex reality of climate change and the challenges we’re facing. Made me feel like learning and doing more on an individual level and proud that this is happening as UNSW, we have power as individuals and as an institution to make a huge, meaningful contribution to this existential crisis.
