The Centre for Digital Transformation of Health is excited to have Dr Sujoy Kar, Chief Medical Information Officer and the Vice-President of Apollo Hospitals, join us in-person to speak about ‘Navigating Clinical AI – the Power, Velocity, Impact and Scale.’

The presentation from Dr Sujoy Kar, Apollo Hospitals – Clinical AI Team will discuss the development, deployment, and integration of Clinical AI tools to address clinical challenges at the point of care. It will outline foundational AI building blocks, focusing on harnessing extensive Electronic Medical Record (EMR) data to enhance patient care, operational efficiency, and community health. The seminar will focus on key initiatives, including disease progression models, risk scoring, imaging, and signal analysis. In addition, ethical considerations, responsible AI, and privacy protections are emphasized, alongside AI-powered solutions such as Early Warning Systems and risk stratification, aiming for scalability and trust in real-world applications. Dr Kar’s presentation will cover Risk Based Approaches in Design – Development – Deployment – Post Production of Clinical AI APIs, and it will highlight on the approaches to handle validation and performance evaluation of Aging Clinical AI Algorithms.

About the speaker
Dr Sujoy Kar is the Chief Medical Information Officer and the Vice-President of Apollo Hospitals, previously Medical Director of Apollo Gleneagles Hospitals, Kolkata. He is a Clinical Microbiologist by background with subsequent post-graduations from Indian Statistical Institute and MIT Sloan School of Management. He is an Adjunct Faculty for Healthcare Analytics and Management at IIM Calcutta, IIT Kharagpur and Apollo University, Chittoor.
