This year the “Clint Keil Cup” golf day is dedicated to supporting a family in need. A single mother, facing a terminal illness, who is bravely navigating this difficult journey with her children.

Coko’s Story
12 months ago 40 yr old Coko, beautiful single mum of four daughters aged 8yrs, 12yrs, 13yrs and 23yrs - was diagnosed with Neuroendocrine Cancer (NET) - Stage 4. Initially diagnosed with a rare primary Tumour in the hard pallet, further tests uncovered that the cancer had metastasised to her lymph nodes and liver. Under the care of the Northern Sydney Cancer Centre Coko was admitted to RNSH for pain management and immediate Chemotherapy treatment. After six months of aggressive Chemo the tumours had shrunk and although not completely gone, the cancer was finally stable and Coko was able to have some respite. Devastatingly, after only a few months of rest there has been growth in the primary tumour and two new tumours have advanced to the brain. As NET cancer is rare there is no known pathway to treatment, meaning that there are minimal options of treatment that have been proven to be successful.

Coko was initially given a prognosis of 24 months and with new development and growth this has limited the prognosis further.

Coko and her daughters have little support with no family. Coko has had to rely on her village of friends, work colleagues, school parents and local community outreach to help with day to day living.
As Coko has had to leave her full time job to focus on treatment, this last year has been tremendously challenging, especially with the uncertainty of any successful outcome. The family has had to adapt to a new lifestyle which changes regularly. The girls have shown so much resilience and support for their mother, helping to care for her during her weakest days and putting on a brave face knowing that the worst is yet to come.

Funds raised will go towards creating beautiful memories during their time together but more importantly alleviating financial pressure on the girls should the inevitable happen.
