Frequently asked questions

Is there toilets?

Yes, there are public toilets across from playground.

Can my 13 - 18 year old run in the 2km?

Yes, and they will still recieve a certificate for participating but they will not be eligible for 1st, 2nd or 3rd place.

Is there parking?

There is limited parking at the playgound, you CANNOT park on the oval but there is ample parking at the swimming pool/bowling club near the caravan park office.

Will everyone run together?

The students competing in the 2km will start first, followed by 4km runners, and it will all depend on the number of participants as to whether we do smaller groups within the 2km and 4km races. Although students will run together, each will recieve individual certificates.

Will the be certificates?

Yes, students will either get 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 'well done'. Boys and girls will all run together but not be competing against one another. ie. there will be a 1st place in the 8yr old girls and the 8yr boys.

Can I leave as soon as the race is over?

Absolutely, there will be a presentation but if you need to go we can give you child their certificate earlier.

What is the track like?

As you have the map feel free to check it out before hand. There are steep inclines and declines, students will be running on roads within the caravan park, public roads (with minimal local traffic), single lane dirt bush track and grass.

Who can participate?

Students between the ages of 8 yrs -18 yrs who are Home Educated only and live within the Coffs Coast area. ie. those who are not part of the Grafton, Port Macquarie or Armidale home ed communities.

How can I help on the day?

We need around 15 parent helpers, positioned at different places around the track to direct and encouage students. You will need to stay in your position until the last child completes the race. Feel free to bring a chair.

My child doesn't want to run, can they help?

Yes, if your child is resposible and is in highschool and is willing to be positioned as a parent helper and direct kids around the track.
