Returning to the greatest Mother… her womb …gathering her bones …the stone people… the grandmothers and grandfathers our ancestors.

We honor, with deep gratitude we gather in a circle with our prayers, chants and offerings as we dream in our Hearts deepest desires.

With respect we enter her body... a time to purify, release and cleanse. We open to receive…love and nurturing, surrendering to embrace of our Mother.

We seek guidance through sweating, prayer, chants and songs.

Aligning and evolving from the tradition that the lodge is the womb of mother, this lodge is interwoven from the mysteries. Connecting to spirit we sit and listen, connecting to Earth we receive guidance and wisdom of the ancient ones.

We emerge rebirthed- walking our dreams and prayers into our lives.

And as is part of this tradition we cater an abundant feast to celebrate our puritfication

Frequently asked questions

How do I prepare for the ceremony?

You'll receive an email on booking that lists how to prepare and what to bring with you.

Are they any contraindications to joining the Sweatlodge ceremony?

Most people, most health conditions and medications are OKAY for lodge BUT if you are on medications for chronic conditions then please let us know.

I'm insulin dependant diabetic, can I join you?

The answer is yes, we'll have started having an email exchange from the Health Check form ... you'll be given different fasting instructions and be asked to test your BSL at different times during the ceremony as the heat can cause your body's sugar levels to be used up during the ceremony.

I'm pregnant, can I join the ceremony?

Although pregnant women are welcome traditionally into lodges, we take a more cautious approach and ask that you refrain from joining the lodge when you are pregnant, any stage.

Do I need to bring a contribution to the feast?

No need to bring food, we will provide a delicious post ceremony feast which is included in the event price. We cater a vegetarian (with vegan and gluten/dairy free options) and chai and sweets, please let us know if you have any other food intolerances.

Do I need to bring a Tobacco offering to the lodge pourers?

We have factored the cost of tobacco into our fee so that you don't need to buy any extra. If you have a very strong prayer, you can choose to offer tobacco over the fire in the traditional way. Usually this is an unopened pouch of organic tobacco (Manitou, American Spirit), wrapped in red cloth.

Menstruation and attending ceremony ...

In our experience, all women are welcome to attend lodge and if they are on their moontime but comfortable to come, then they are most welcome. The Moon is a powerful ceremony for women in it's own rite, and when combined with purification lodges we find that the cleansing is amplified ...
