Do you want a more compassionate workplace?

We spend so much of our lives at work that our organisational environment has a major impact on our health and wellbeing. There are proven ways to embed more compassionate approaches in your workplace, leading to physical and emotional benefits.

Join this free half-day training session on Compassion at Work. This training is part of the Connecting with People (CwP) training suite. Developed by 4 Mental Health (4MH) in the UK, CwP is an alternative, compassion-based and evidence-informed suicide prevention framework and training approach.

In this training session, you will learn:

  • what compassion is
  • the science that supports the physical and emotional benefits of a compassionate approach
  • key components of compassion, the barriers and how to maintain a compassionate approach at work
  • how organisational culture impacts compassion
  • the links between self-compassion and the ability to be compassionate towards others
  • ways you can promote compassion
  • how to develop a Compassion Plan.

This training session is for members of the ACT community services sector, whether as paid or volunteer work. People working in primary health care in the ACT with an association with an MHCC ACT working group or community of practice are also welcome to attend.

The Compassion at Work training module provides the foundational information that will prepare attendees for the Community Suicide Awareness training we also run from the Connecting with People suite. All training dates are available on our website.

This course is delivered by the Mental Health Community Coalition ACT (MHCC ACT), with assistance from the ACT Government under the Connecting with People program.
