Welcome to the Aboriginal Dance Workshop!

Come join us for a day filled with cultural immersion and dance exploration. This workshop is a unique opportunity to learn traditional Aboriginal dance techniques while also incorporating modern elements.

Our experienced instructor will guide you through various dances, while sharing the stories and significance behind each dance. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced dancer, this workshop is open to all levels.

Suitable for ages 6-12 years.

About the presenter: Renae Lamb is a proud descendant of the Wiradjuri/Wongaibon people of central west NSW. Born and raised of the homelands of the Wannarua, Awabakal and Worimi communities, she is currently raising her family on Worimi country.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts Minor in Education and Major in Global Indigenous Studies, and is the owner of Midnight Dreaming Dance Studio.

About the venue: MAP mima is located in Speers Point Park, off Park Street, on the edge of Lake Macquarie. MAP mima is accessible by ramp with accessible toilets. MAP can be reached easily from the lake foreshore cycleway, the water, or by public transport. There is plenty of parking for cars, and buses with accessible spaces available, onsite and in the surrounding parklands.

This event may be photographed and filmed and your image could be used in advertising and promotion by Lake Macquarie City Council. Should you wish to not be photographed or filmed please advise event organisers on entry at the event.
