Join Us for Free Ceramic Workshops with Renowned Ceramicist, and Artist in Residence, Andrea Vinkovic!
We are thrilled to announce a series of free community ceramic workshops led by renowned ceramic artist Andrea Vinkovic, who is also the Artist in Residence as part of the REAP Exhibition Program.
The Community will have the unique opportunity to create small, textured ceramic pieces that will be featured in the upcoming community exhibition, 'per-Spective Lines', running from May 15th to July 3rd in the REAP Foyer exhibition space. This exhibition aims to explore and celebrate Karratha and its unique surrounding landscape through collaborative creativity.
During the workshops, Andrea will guide participants through the process of creating intricate ceramic pieces, focusing on texture and representation. Using various techniques, participants will capture the essence of the landscape - whether it's the rugged terrain, the smoothness of the sea, or the intricate patterns found in nature. These individual pieces will then be combined to create a larger-scale collaborative work that will be the centrepiece of the exhibition.
Multi-media Port Hedland artists Amelia Blanco, will be documenting the workshop series producing a time-based media, capturing the collaborative and artistic process, showcasing the essence of the program and the community involvement. This documentation will be shown throughout the festival.
