About this event

Crowd Giving - Which project is pitch perfect?

Join us for an exciting evening where persuasive pitches and collective generosity join forces to effect real change. Enjoy some light refreshments as you mingle with like-minded guests and discover more about the exciting projects.

Hosted by Courtney Talbot, President of the Queensland Library Foundation and Andrew Baker, Managing Partner of Perpetual Private, this event features presentations from three State Library experts showcasing their innovative projects. You’ll have the chance to cast your vote for the project you think should receive $30,000 in funding.

Your $150 (tax-deductible) donation gives you entry, a vote, and the opportunity to help bring one of three transformative State Library projects to life.

Be part of something special and encourage your friends and family to join you – your vote can shape the future!

Here's a sneak peek at the projects:

Hands-on play in The Corner

In a rapidly changing world, children need innovative environments to grow and learn. Your vote will help create a magical space at The Corner, where families can explore and engage through interactive digital play.

A Fresh Brew for Tea & Me

Do you know the stories behind the treasured Tea & Me collection displayed in floor-to-ceiling cabinets at State Library's Queensland Terrace? Your vote will give Tea & Me a fresh brew with updated and refreshed displays, including new stories and activations that will tell the many stories of today's Queensland.

Fact or Fiction?

Students today are bombarded with information from countless sources, so distinguishing fact from fiction is more crucial than ever. With your vote, State Library will create an interactive online program designed to empower students to recognise bias, spot fake news, and differentiate between fact and opinion.

A tax deductible receipt for your $150 Crowd Giving ticket and any additional donations will be emailed to you after the event.

We look forward to seeing you on Wdnesday 12 March 2025 at State Library of Queensland.

Thank you.
