December Meet-Up

Join us online for the Third and final DMP IG meeting of 2024!

We are thrilled to welcome our guest speaker Dr Cameron K. Fong, University of Sydney, for a recap of his 2024 E- Research presentation: Are RDMPs on life-support? The need for a “health check” for researchers’ data practices

Discover how our Research Data Consulting (RDC) team is helping researchers at the University of Sydney transform their Research Data Management Plans (RDMPs) from static files into dynamic, actionable resources. Join us to explore how "RDMP health checks" review data management practices, align RDMPs with ethics compliance, and support researchers in creating effective, living documents for their research.

Who will be speaking?

  • Dr. Cameron K. Fong, Research Data Consulting Lead, University of Sydney
  • The meeting will be hosted by John Brown (Curtin University), chair of the DMP Interest Group.

Who should attend?

Researchers, data managers, research support staff, academics, and anyone interested in advancing research data management practices.

What participants will gain from the session?

Gain insights into RDMP practices from the University of Sydney, learn about the common gaps in data management plans, and discover how health checks can enhance institutional RDM maturity. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and contribute to the discussion about their own experiences of practical tools to improve their data management practices and challenges facilitating RDMPs to support research.
