About this event

De-escalation & Occupational Confrontation Training:

Workplace conflict and challenging interactions are increasingly common, making it essential for businesses to equip themselves with effective strategies for de-escalation and conflict resolution. This in-person training, delivered by Resolution Education, is designed to help business owners, operators, and managers develop the skills to confidently manage and defuse tense situations, ensuring a safer and more positive work environment.

IMPORTANT:

This training consists of two x 3-hour sessions. When booking you are commiting to 2 blocks of afternoon training to be held on April 9th and April 16th at the times of 2pm - 5pm.

Please note training is for Warrnambool based businesses ONLY! Registrants from outside of the Warrnambool LGA will not be accepted.

1 x representative per business limit is in affect.

What to Expect:

This interactive and practical training will cover:
✅ Understanding workplace aggression and recognizing early warning signs
✅ Managing emotions and staying calm under pressure
✅ Applying de-escalation techniques to prevent escalation
✅ Reading verbal and non-verbal cues to assess risk
✅ Responding effectively to threats, including self-harm concerns
✅ Navigating post-incident reporting and workplace safety policies

Through real-life scenarios, role-playing exercises, and expert guidance, participants will gain the confidence and skills to handle difficult situations with professionalism and care.

Due to limited spots, priority will be given to business owners, operators, and managers, with one representative per business. A waitlist may be created based on demand. In response to concerns raised by local traders about challenging behaviors from the public, WCC is offering the first two sessions at no cost. Future sessions will be considered based on demand and may incur a fee.

Don't miss this opportunity to enhance workplace safety and improve conflict resolution skills.

Coffee, tea, and light snacks will be provided. However, full catering will not be available, so please plan for your own afternoon tea or dinner.
