Course Introduction

To start, we’ll go around the room, so that everyone introduces themselves. Then we talk through what we are going to cover. Give each person the opportunity to identify their own learning goals for the next session.


Topics covered in this course

Understanding De Escalation : This session will show you exactly how to reply when faced with such situations as well as when not to reply.

Verbal and Non Verbal Techniques : In this session participants will learn how to counteract tense situations through non verbal techniques, and use the force of conversation dynamics to help defuse conflicts.

Principle of Appropriate Response : Through the session, the participants were enabled to acquire the skill of recognising and taking appropriate steps in any situation. When basic principles are analysed with applications, the ability to respond accurately increases.

Preparing for Worst Case Scenarios : This session will show how to stay in command in a situation of risk followed by better ensuring one’s own safety. Participants will definitely feel up to the task, totally cool!

The Safer Choices : In this workshop, use participants will be informed about sound methods to lower the amount of distress and prevent potentially dangerous situations.

Summary of the Workshop : At the end of this session there will be an opportunity for questions and action planning.
