About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes

The “D” word has been a taboo topic yet talking about Death can be one of the most eye-opening conversations you’ll ever have.

A Death Cafe is an opportunity for people from all walks of life to gather, have a cuppa and discuss death in a relaxed, non-denominational setting. In normalising the topic of Death, it is possible to find freedom and a renewed sense of aliveness.

We will make time and space to connect and discuss the end of life. Facilitated by Death Doula, Dina Smirnova, expect to discuss death in small groups with no agenda, objectives or themes. Your curiosity, willingness to share (or just listen) and presence are welcome.

Registration is essential.

Please note :

The purpose of the Death Cafe is to provide an accessible space for discussion, rather than grief support or counselling. If you are interested in the event but unsure whether attending a Death Cafe at this time is for you, reach out to us at libraryevents@merri-bek.vic.gov.au.
